AGC Maine Education Foundation Program

Must be a maine resident
Must be entering or enrolled in an undergraduate, construction-related field of study at an accredited Maine post-secondary institute.
Must demonstrate financial need.
Meet reasonable academic standards
150 word typed essay, explaining why you are pursuing a career in construction.
Must include a transcript.

Maine State Florists' and Growers' Assocaiation Scholarship

This organization offers 4 scholarships in the amount of 250.00 each. The scholarships will be awarded annually to four individuals who are currently planning on furthering their education in college, specialized school, Maine state florists and growers sponsored course of study; Professional Certified Florist-PCF Maine Master Floral Designer MMFD classes, Growers classes, Floral Symposiums or related study.

High School seniors eligible

scholastic achievement
extracurricular activities
and the desire to pursue horticulture and or floriculture
letter of reference from instructor/ counselor.

PFLAG

PFLAG Scholarship for GLBT youth and their supporters.

PFLAG Scholarships provide an important, positive statement to a group of young people that is coping amazingly well in an often adverse school environment. They are marginalized and subjected to harassment and discrimination in many parts of the country, not only at school but also often in their own families.

PFLAG is proud to support these articulate, accomplished scholars with great promise for future contribution to our society in general and to the cause of rights and recognition for GLBT people in particular.

Mitchell Institute

Application is available Jan 1 at Mitchellinstitute
Amount is 5,000.
The focus of the Mitchell Institute has always been, and continues to be, Maine students attending Maine colleges and universities. In an effort to help as many Maine students as possible obtain a higher education, the Mitchell Institute has some scholarships available for Maine students planning to attend college out of state.

Criteria for the scholarship are: academic performance/potential, a record of community service, and financial need. Each applicant must be a legal resident of Maine and must plan to attend a four-year or two-year degree program at an accredited college or university. He or she must also be a graduating senior from a public high school in Maine. Applicants must be planning to enter their first year of college in September of the year of their application for the scholarship.

The Mitchell Institute seeks to award the Mitchell Scholarship to students for whom the money and support programs offered by the organization will make the most difference.

2000 scholarship for two outstanding HS seniors who plan a career in civil engineering.
