Scholarship Tips
- Know Deadlines.
- Take the initiative to go to the guidance office.
- Make the time to research all avenues of support.
- Be realistic about your school choices, both academically and financially.
- Talk about your plans, ideas and dreams with friends and family. The more people who know what you're thinking, the wider your circle of support.
- Be sure you meet the eligibility criteria for any scholarship you apply to.
- Prepare your essays thoughtfully and answer the questions asked. This is your opportunity to "sell yourself". Use it wisely.
- Spell check, spell check, spell check.
- Be sure to enclose all documents requested. If for any reason you're unable to include something, indicate so and give a date when it might be expected.
- Keep copies of everything you send out.
- Respect all submission deadlines.
- Write thank you notes.
