American Lung Assn of ME Golf Privilege Card Scholarship

Supporting Maine's Youth

The American Lung Association of Maine is proud to announce its annual Golf Privilege Card Scholarship honoring Maine High School students who excel on and off the golf course.

These scholarships have been established by ALAME to recognize the golf courses who support the Golf Privilege Card and our outstanding High School Students.

Deadline for submission is April 15th, 2007

Award

Three $500 scholarships are awarded to graduating Maine high school seniors. Scholarships are awarded based on essay question answer, references and review of completed application. All applicants will be notified of their results in mid April. Awards will be paid directly to the education institution upon completion of the first semester.

Criteria

For consideration for the American Lung Association of Maine 2007 Golf Privilege Card Scholarship students must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States and a permanent resident of the State of Maine .
  • Graduate from a Maine high school in spring 2007.
  • Be entering the first year of Post-High School education or training in fall 2007. Applicant must show evidence of acceptance into an accredited college or vocational technical school.
  • Involved in the game of golf either as a player, member of a golf team or employee of a golf course.
  • Pursuing further education in a health education/health promotion, medical or environmental related field.
  • Be a non-tobacco user.
  • File his/her application with the American Lung Association of Maine before April 1, 2007. This must include all necessary paperwork. Incomplete applications will not be considered by the judging committee.

Judging

A committee of Lung Association staff, and volunteers will make the final decisions of awarding scholarships.
